How to locate your PAYG summary when applying for a loan

I get a lot of feedback from clients that they can’t find their PAYG (pay as you go) summary when applying for a loan. This is the document that your employer used to give you at the end of the financial year to tell you how much you earned over the year, which you then lodged with your tax return.

These days most employers are required to lodge the information through the Australian Tax Office (ATO) portal called Single Touch Payroll (STP). You can still access this document, but it takes a little preparation. However it’s not difficult.

To make things simple for you, I have located this page on the ATO website which has instructions and videos on how to retrieve these documents from your myGov account.
